SARASOTA -- Ryan Kelly threw five solid innings to key the Pirates' 4-3 win over the Orioles Thursday at Twin Lakes Park.

Kelly allowed four hits and a run, walked one and struck out four. Alex Vargas and Andury Acevedo each had a single and triple. Vargas' triple drove in a run.

At the City of Sarasota Complex, Dan Haigwood pitched five shutout innings to spark the Red Sox to a 3-2 win over the Reds. Haigwood allowed four hits, did not walk a batter and fanned six.
