Orioles sweep pair from Reds

SARASOTA -- The Orioles swept a doubleheader from the Reds, 5-1, and 4-2, at Twin Lakes Park on Tuesday to remain alive in the race for the Southern Division championship. The two victories, coupled with the Twins' 8-7 loss to the Red Sox in Fort Myers, left the Orioles three games behind the first-place Twins.
The regular season ends Monday.
In the opener for the Orioles, Arthur Bonevacia had a home run and two singles while winner Leonardo Madrigal and Brian Finch combined on a five-hitter.
In the second game, starter Samuel Taveras and winner Conrad Orman held the Reds to four hits.
Levi Carolus had a double, single and scored twice for the Orioles.
At the Red Sox Complex, the Red Sox went ahead for good on a two-run, sixth-inning home run by Anthony Rizzo.
Rizzo finished with two hits, two RBI and three runs scored.
Albert Jiminez picked up the win in relief, allowing two hits and no runs over 3 1/3 innings. Ryne Miller earned a save, allowing no hits over the final 1 1/3 innings. Ben Revere had a triple and Jon Waltenbury a double for the Twins.
