Morgan leads Pirates, 8-1

BRADENTON -- The Pirates banged out 15 hits in an 8-1 win over the Red Sox on Monday at Pirate City.
Nyjer Morgan, down on a rehab assignment, was 3-for-5 including an inside-the-park home run to center field to open the fifth inning. Ronald Peña went 2-for-4 with a more conventional solo homer to right-center with one out in the sixth.
Quincy Latimore was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and Andury Acevedo went 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Ten Pirates had hits.
Eddy Núñez allowed three hits and an unearned run over 5 1/3 innings for the win.
At Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, the Twins built a big early lead and held on for a 7-6 victory over the Reds.
Alexis Oliveras' bases-loaded triple in the eighth inning pulled the Reds within 7-4, then they added two more in the ninth, the second on a double by Fernando Encarnacion.
Reliever Danny Rondon retired the side for a save.
Winner Daniel Berlind allowed one run over six innings.
Ben Revere was 2-for-4 for the Twins. For the Reds, Radhames Moreta was 2-for-3, and David Scott 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
