Gulf coast League Roundup

Jeanfred Brito

Sarasota Herald Tribune
STAFF REPORT

SARASOTA -- Conrad Orman allowed just one hit in five innings of relief to lead the Orioles to a 5-1 Gulf Coast League win over the Reds at Ed Smith Stadium Monday night.

Nick Ray had a double and a triple for the Orioles while teammate Robert Vasquez had a two-run single.

Alexis Olivaveras had a triple for the Reds, who finished the game with just two hits.

At Fort Myers, The Red Sox used four singles and took advantage of a wild pitch and an error to score four runs in the top of the second inning en route to a 6-3 victory over the Twins Monday at Hammond Stadium.

Ricardo Burgos, Darren Blocker and Rafael Gil each had two hits for the Red Sox.

Jeanfred Brito led the Twins with three hits in five at-bats while teammate Yangervis Solarte went 2-for-3.

Pedro Perez allowed two unearned runs in three innings of relief to earn the win for the Red Sox.
