Twins sweep pair from Reds

SARASOTA -- The Twins swept a doubleheader from the Reds on Sunday at Ed Smith Stadium, winning the opener 8-3 and the nightcap 4-0.
In the first game, Thomas Wright allowed four hits in five innings, walking two and striking out four.
Andrew Schmiesing had two RBI singles and Danny Rams added a two-run double. Ben Revere had a single and triple.
Alexis Oliveras had a single and triple and drove in two runs for the Reds in the opener. José Gualdron added a single and double.
In the second game, three Twins pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout. Charles Nolte got the win in relief with three innings of two-hit ball.
Juan Richardson's two-run triple in the first was all the Twins (28-9) needed to finish the sweep.
David Scott and Radhames Moreta each had two hits for the Reds (10-27).
At the Red Sox Complex in Fort Myers, Luis Sumoza tripled and homered and drove in two runs as the Red Sox (17-21) beat the Pirates 3-1.
Peter Gilardo homered in the second inning. Sumoza made it 2-0 with a sun-aided triple in the fourth, then hit his home run in the sixth.
Joe Muñoz had two hits for the Pirates (15-23).
