Orioles stop Pirates, 5-3

STAFF REPORT

SARASOTA -- The Orioles defeated the Pirates Tuesday afternoon at Twin Lakes Park 5-3.

The Orioles managed to get their runs off only four hits.

Conrad Orman pitched three innings of relief, allowing one run on four hits and two walks to get the win. He struck out three.

Tyler Kolodny of the Orioles went 2-for-2 with a two-run inside-the-park home run and a double.

Daniel Bomback of the Pirates was 2-for-4 with two singles and a RBI. Tom Hagan was also 2-for-4 with a double while Joe Munoz went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two runs scored.

A game between the Reds and Red Sox in Fort Myers was suspended by rain in the top of the third inning.

Around the minors

Angel Salome, a catcher with the Brewers' Florida State League team in Brevard, was suspended for 50 games after testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance.

He became the 18th minor leaguer suspended this year.
