7-run 6th boosts Pirates

BRADENTON -- John Fitzpatrick homered and keyed a seven-run sixth inning with a two-run double that sparked the Pirates' 10-4 win over the Orioles on Thursday at Pirate City.
Andy Biela capped the rally with a three-run triple to make it an 8-4 lead.
Fitzpatrick was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs. Caleb Fields went 2-for-5 with a double for the Pirates.
Brandon Holden was the beneficiary of the big inning. He pitched 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief for the win.
Elvin Polanco was 2-for-5 with two RBI for the Orioles. Luis Bernardo had a single and a double and Tyler Kolodny had two hits and an RBI.
At the Red Sox Complex in Fort Myers, the Red Sox got six strong innings from Pedro Pérez to beat the visiting Reds 5-2.
Pérez allowed three hits and a run, walking one and striking out four. The only blemish was a leadoff home run by Justin Reed.
Emmanuel Solano was 3- for-4 and Rafael Gil 2-for-4, with both driving in a run. Mitch Dening had a single and double and drove in two.
Reed finished 2-for-4 for the Reds.
