FORT MYERS -- The Twins scored an unearned run in the first inning, then made it stand up the rest of the way for a 1-0 victory over the Reds in Lee County Complex on Tuesday.
After a leadoff walk to Jeanfred Brito, a throwing error on a pickoff attempt moved Brito to second. He got to third on a fly out.
Starter Juan Rafael struck out Ben Revere, but a double to center field by Ken Harvey brought in the run.
Rafael allowed only one other hit over the next three innings, and reliever Brandon Rice followed with four shutout innings.
Three Twins pitchers held the Reds to six singles.
Also in Fort Myers, at the Red Sox Complex, the Red Sox hammered the Pirates 15-9.
Mitch Dunning had a home run and three RBI.
John FitzPatrick had a solo homer for the Pirates.
