Pirates, Twins pummel foes

SARASOTA -- The Pirates beat the Reds 11-10 on Saturday at Ed Smith Stadium.
Right fielder Yonelvy Canal was 2-for-5, third baseman Carlos Silva was 2-for-4, second baseman Caleb Fields was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two RBI, and designated hitter John Fitzpatrick hit a two-run home run in the Pirates' victory.
For the Reds, shortstop Radhames Moreta was 3-for-6, designated hitter Naftali Soto was 4-for-5 and center fielder Alexis Oliveras was 3-for-5.
Also Saturday, the Twins beat the Orioles 11-1 as five Twins pitchers combined to limit the Orioles to five hits.
Right fielder Jeanfred Brito went 4-for-4 in the Twins' victory, and center fielder Ben Revere, the Twins' top pick in this year's draft, went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.
For the Orioles, shortstop Rodolfo Cardona went 2-for-4 and drove in the Orioles' only run with a double in the fifth inning.
