Reds break out bats; Twins rely on pitching

SARASOTA -- Jose Medina allowed two hits, no runs, no walks and struck out three over 3 1/3 innings as the Reds beat the Orioles 13-6 Friday.
For the Reds, shortstop Hames Moreto had 4 hits, 3 RBI and scored a pair of runs in the win; right fielder Justin Reed went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI; and third baseman Carlos Mendez went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI.
For the Orioles, third baseman Levi Carolus hit a two-run home run in the first inning.
Three Twins pitchers combined to allow just four hits in beating the Red Sox 4-0 at the Red Sox Complex in Fort Myers.
Michael McCardell had five strikeouts over four innings; Daniel Borland, who got the win, struck out six over four innings; and Danny Rondon struck out one in one inning pitched.
The Twins' 2007 first-round draft pick Ben Revere hit an RBI triple off the Red Sox's Tony Bajorcsky in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie.
