FORT MYERS -- After watching the Reds score five times in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 5, the Twins scored twice in their half of the inning and added three more in the eighth for a 10-5 win Friday afternoon at the Twins Complex.
James Beresford led the Twins' (10-4) 11-hit attack, going 3-for-4 with four runs and a stolen base. His leadoff single in the bottom of the seventh helped produce the go-ahead run, after he took second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a single by Yangervis Solarte.
The Reds used four walks, two hits, a sacrifice, an error and a wild pitch to score their five runs in the seventh. The big hit was a two-run single by third baseman Brodie Pullen that made the score 5-3.
Also in Fort Myers, starter Ryan Colvin allowed just one hit over six innings to lead the Red Sox to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Pirates. Colvin was perfect for five innings before allowing a leadoff single in the sixth to Carlos Silva.
Alberto Gil allowed just one hit in the ninth inning to pick up the save for the Red Sox.
Darren Blocker was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Sox.
